Losing weight after C-section

How I lost 12 Kgs after third c-section

To start it off, I would really like to tell you all that before getting pregnant with my first baby I have been around 41kgs to 45kgs all the time, and yes this is the ideal weight for a very small person like me. Ever since my first pregnancy I had put on a lot of weight. Six months after my first baby, I got pregnant again and this time the weight had almost doubled. After giving birth I tried different methods, exercised, tried to limit my food intake but that disturbed my breastmilk supply, so I just accepted that I have to be overweight the rest of my life, or until my babies are old enough that I can take some time out for myself.

My baby number two had just turned 2 years old and exactly when I was thinking to move on and get him off the breastfeed, and make a routine for myself to lose weight, I got to know I was pregnant again.!!!!!!

So I totally gave in and thought that mother nature doesn’t want me to be back on my ideal weight ever again. Long story short, I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby via another c-section, with a HUGE baby bulge hanging on my tummy and my total weight at that time was almost 67kgs. Now that number might sound a little too exaggerated, but trust me with a small person like me having light weight bones, 67kgs was literally a pain in the ass, or a pain everywhere I might say. So I decided for myself that I didn’t want to take this pain anymore and I really want to live normally once again.

So I tried, stayed consistent for around 3 months, and lost almost 12 Kgs.

Note: I started my weight loss trial after 7-8 months of giving birth because it was a  third c-section and it took quite some time to heal up and get back my energy.

Here are the main  things that really helped me through this;

1.       I started being active:

I tried to be as active as possible, I would do all the house chores, take my baby for a one mile walk in the stroller, and stopped being lazy about everything.

2.       Took note of what I ate:

I started keeping track of my meals, this is when I realised I was eating way too much than it was required, just because I thought eating more n more would boost my breastmilk supply, but that was just a myth and it did no good except putting a whole lot of weight on my bones. I would recommend using any calorie counter app that suits you to count daily calories.

3.       2 Glasses of water before every meal:

Before starting any meal time, I would drink around 2 glasses of water which would number one, fill my stomach already with less space left for solids, number two, helped in boosting breastmilk supply, number 3, I believe it also helped in better digestion.

4.       Bought a treadmill:

I decided to walk one mile everyday, but some days it wasn’t possible to go out with the baby because of weather, or timing or mood whatsoever, so I bought this used , cheap treadmill that did the job for me. So whenever in the day I got some free time, I would set the distance to 1 mile on the treadmill, and just walk. It hardly took 20-25 minutes everyday but this thing really helped me.

5.       The 7 o clock magic trick:

Yes, I would like to call it the magic trick of losing weight. I stopped eating after 7:00 pm. What this did was, it gave my stomach a lot of time, to digest what I had eaten during the day. I would have my last meal of the day before 7:00pm, or at least 2 hours before I went to bed. This really boosted my metabolism.

 Kept Breastfeeding:

Breastfeeding my baby regularly helped me burn those extra calories that I couldn't have done otherwise. So breastfeeding is not only good for  your baby, but for your health also.

I have not yet reached my goal weight and it is still a long way to go, but I believe if I be consistent, I can make it. and of course if I can make it, you can too!!!

5 Year Old Behaviour Problems

Behavioural issues in 5-year-old child. Your child has turned or will soon be 5 years old, and suddenly you have started to notice strange behavioural problems. Your child gets angry very easily, he doesn’t want to share his toys with siblings, you try to discipline him, but he doesn’t care, or usually wouldn’t listen to what you want him to do. If you are going through such a phase, then you should know that you are not alone. Although every kid is different from the other but trust me almost all parents go through this phase of their child’s life where the kid becomes stubborn, doesn’t want to listen, and gets angry when you discipline them. As a parent, it is understandable that the situation is sometimes very frustrating and saddening, because the once good obedient little baby has now become an angry young man and you cannot figure out how to deal with it. What causes such behaviour? I believe that a kid’s personality is like a blank canvas from the beginning, and ...

The ‘belly hang’ after C-section

The ‘belly hang’ after C-section, Reasons and Remedies:   I know it feels very strange once you get up on your feet, after the anaesthesia effect has gone, and you see a bulge of belly hanging over and you are shocked. ‘Despite the baby has already came out, why my stomach still looks like I am pregnant?’, that is the question that might come to your mind in the first place. If you are in that condition, I hope this article helps you. Read till the end to find my story as well. Reasons: There can be the following possible reasons that lead to a hanging belly, or it is termed as the apron belly. Remaining fat: Getting pregnant and passing through the whole period of pregnancy comes with a lot of changes in the body. One of those changes is the excess of fat that usually builds up around the belly because of many reasons such as, eating a lot of fats, not being able to move a lot, and just the pregnancy fat so as I call it. This remaining fat layer around the abdomen is o...

Increasing Breastfeed Supply

Increasing breastfeed supply Busting the myth: If you are a first time mommy and you are worried that your baby still cries even after you have breast fed him, and all you think is that your breast milk is not enough and all he wants is more feed, then you are wrong, and everyone else who is telling you that is also wrong!!! Babies often cry when they are hungry, but they cry more often because of other things, like sleepiness, diaper rash, colic etc. Although it can happen that your breastmilk supply is hindered because of some reasons, and you should know that breastmilk takes some time, a day or two to get the flow, but thinking that every time your baby is crying is that because of he is getting less breastmilk, and every time he cries you try to tuck in his mouth a bottle of formula milk. Don’t do that! Reasons that can hinder breastmilk supply: Stress: If you are taking a lot of stress and have too much worry or anxiety on your head, ...
